In May 2015, The Medical City was named the first ERAS Center of Excellence in Asia, accrediting its multidisciplinary team to train other hospitals nationwide. To fulfill this responsibility, TMC's ERAS COE announced the 1st National ERAS Congress, an introductory course held on September 8, 2016, at the Augusto Barcelon Auditorium.

From Principle to Practice (P2P) was the second national ERAS congress and marked the first activity under the banner of the newly established ERAS Society Philippines, together with The Medical City, the ERAS Center of Excellence.

The congress, which marked its 3rd anniversary, carried the theme "Fast Tracking ERAS in the Asia-Pacific" and brought together experts from the Philippines, Singapore, the U.S., and Sweden. Notably, the event introduced the Basic ERAS Module as a mandatory local step for those entering the EIP Training.
